Apartment Review for The Gateway At Tempe - Tempe, AZ

When I moved in, this was under different management and called The Village. When Gateway came in, they promised many new improvements and positive changes. The only changes I've seen are negative. First of all, they raised the rent--which would leave you expecting better conditions. Wrong. The furniture in the apartments is next to falling apart. My bed is standing level with the help of a piece of wood I found to prop it up. The flooring in our kitchen and bathroom is curling up and the carpet is completely eroding--to the point where you can see staples and nails when you change rooms. There have been times we've had to prop a chair against our dishwasher to keep it going through a full wash cycle. We put in work orders for all these things (conditions that we reported as being there from the time we moved in), and they do not fix them. And when they do, they try to charge us for these repairs. Strangely, as bad as the condition is, it's the office staff that makes living in this place nearly unbearable. They ignore numerous phone calls, they're rude and unhelpful, and worst of all none of them knows what they are talking about. One piece of advise, try somewhere else in Tempe like The Villas on Apache or San Palmilla, because truth be told, Gateway is going to be one big headache for you. And I have nothing to gain by writing an exagerated review, I'm stuck by a lease, living there, for 9 more months.
