Apartment Review for Foxtree - Tempe, AZ

The rent was definitely acceptable for a decent apartment in a great location. But they do have a major issue! I was given a handbook along with the lease contract but was only told that it was outdated and DO NOT follow it from what I understood! NEVER break the contract even with urgent matters except death! They will suck your wallet dry and they don't care! Friendly staffs but trust me, DO NOT believe anything they said. Literally, they want you to get a lease with them since month-to-month basis is 800+ for a studio. No matter the good or bad reason you have to break the lease (if greater than 2 months), you will have to pay 2-month base rent, 60 days notice fee (+late fee), and un-billed utilities! The utilities do not come cheap either! It's 2 months late bill, so you are still responsible for the unpaid bill. Here's how they calculate, $1.50 daily average from the last statement to the last day, period. They don't care if you use less. 31 days cost $46 instead of what they claimed max $45/month and they also said "paid for what you used" as a new resident. I was out of state for more than a month but they still charged me over the absence. I ended up with $1600 + deposit $250= $1850... In one word, there are better places that worth your cash and perhaps with no or less penalty! If you are on budget, definitely want to steer clear.
