Apartment Review for Desert Palm Village - Tempe, AZ

This is a lousy place to live. There are lots of dogs that bark and people don't clean up after them. The whole place reeks of dog crap all the time. It's the worst when it gets hot. We tried to use the tennis courts and there was dog crap on them. The pathways are poorly lit and the dumpsters and walls get tagged from time to time with graffiti. The place doesn't feel safe. The laundry rooms have been renovated, but they put in fewer washers/dryers so it's hard to find an open one. You have to pass through a gauntlet of dog crap piles to get the laundry room. Things break - A/C, garbage disposal, etc. The electric bill is astronomical. You have to get Direct TV and pay to use the satellite dish if your apartment doesn't face south. Our neighbors leave dirty diapers outside on our landing. One point that differs from previous reviews is my experience with maintenance. They have been very punctual and helpful. They're polite when they show up and very friendly. Also, when we arrived the office staff was kind of rude, but a couple new additions are very polite and friendly. However, these things don't make up for how all the other garbage that goes along with living here. If you love trashy, loud people, dog crap and invincible cockroaches, then this is the place for you!
