Apartment Review for Coronado - Tempe, AZ

I have lived here since April 2005, our biggest problem has been that raw sewage from the other units frequently (as in the last month 7 times, 2 of which flooded all the carpets in my apartment) violently bubbles up into my shower/bathtub and toilet. Maintence is mostly made up of people who hardly speak english, though they are nice enough, but they tend to put bandaids on gunshot wounds such as this and a temporary fix is the best you can hope for. After the flood recedes and my tub is filled with the residue of other people's feces, blood, toilet paper, urine and whatever else anyone has flushed down their toilet, management expects me to clean it up. They expect I will fork out the monthly dose of bleach and cleaning supplies as well as scrub that nasty stuff out, and then think I should feel fine showering or bathing in there. They have refused to pro rate my rent for the many days over the last year I have been without a bathroom. They have cut out some of the carpet padding at my insistence but god knows how far it soaked in and they only would do the entry ways into each room, they haven't even bothered to wash my carpet. They will move me into another unit now that I have finally made a huge stink but seem very unconcerned about the very very serious and potentially life threathening biohazard. The manager I talked to today, basically laughed in my face and said good luck getting any legal satisfaction. So consider carefully before you move here... I seriously feel like I did a tour of war in a 3rd world country after living in this disease breeding ground they try to pass off as an apartment.

Don't ever live here unless you like showering in other people's poo.
